Computation commission of India has imposed a fine of 136 crores on search engine Google. Google was accused of wrongdoing in Indian online search market. This case against Google was registered in 2012. There is a lot of less happening in the world when it is fine on Google.
Accused of adopting wrong methods
Google is optimistic that he misused his dominant position in the search engine market. Accordingly, a penalty of Rs 135.86 crore has been imposed on Google. According to CCI, this penalty is 5 percent of the average turnover in different Segments of Google’s Year 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Google had requested the idea
CCI had requested Google to consider the penalty, but the CCI thought it appropriate to impose penalties in this case.
Matrimonial dot work had complained
The complaint against Google was made by the Matrimonial Dot Work and Consumer Unity and Trust Society. In 2012, Google LLC, Google India, and Google Ireland were formed in this case.
