When the old cycle of PK Murugesan, interior designer of Tamilnadu’s Coimbatore broke down, he invented the wooden bicycle. Actually last year Murugesan’s bicycle broke. He wanted to use his own bicycle again. For which he was looking for a new frame. When they did not find any frame for it, they decided to make frames from wood (Plywood). Not only that, they thought about modifying the bicycle completely.
Murugeson has made a piece of wood with a bicycle seat, a handlebar bicycle, including a bar. When he came out with a bicycle, a crowd of people gathered to see him. Murugesan took 15 days to sketch the design of the bicycle. His first cycle is set in 25,000 rupees. Now he is going to start his firm in this area.
Murugesan said, ‘I started it as an experiment. Apart from this I have always been interested in environmental issues. That’s why I thought that the wooden bicycle would attract people’s attention. Murugesan further said that in the future I am planning to use bike tires in that, which would be suitable for long ride. I am also thinking about making a seven-gear bicycle.
